Avec son ouvrage Le go\u00fbt de l\u2019\u00e9trange<\/i>, Evane Luna, l\u2019autrice de cette anthologie parue aux \u00e9ditions Mercure de France dans la collection de poche \u00ab Le Petit Mercure \u00bb, nous convie \u00e0 une exploration \u00e0 travers les \u00e2ges, les esth\u00e9tiques et les g\u00e9ographies de l\u2019insolite. De la fascination morbide aux visions oniriques, on feuillette le livre, et on y pioche dans comme un cabinet de curiosit\u00e9s.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Un parcours entre mythes et souterrains<\/h3>\n

De la visite labyrinthique d\u2019Hawara imagin\u00e9e par H\u00e9rodote, la ville de Bruges et l’atmosph\u00e8re muette de ses eaux, jusqu\u2019aux myst\u00e9rieux \u00e9chos du Paris souterrain… Ces lieux ont en commun une m\u00eame fascination. Ils dissimulent autant qu\u2019ils r\u00e9v\u00e8lent. Evane Luna nous conduit notamment sous terre, dans la crypte de la Passion. En avril 1897, un concert macabre y est donn\u00e9 \u00e0 vingt m\u00e8tres de profondeur. Des invit\u00e9s de marque avancent \u00e0 la lueur des bougies. Autour d\u2019eux, des rang\u00e9es de cr\u00e2nes et de tibias composent un d\u00e9cor aussi fun\u00e8bre que th\u00e9\u00e2tral. Une inscription accueille les visiteurs : \u00ab Arr\u00eate ! C\u2019est ici l\u2019empire de la Mort. \u00bb <\/em>La sc\u00e8ne pourrait sortir d\u2019un roman gothique. Elle t\u00e9moigne pourtant d\u2019un go\u00fbt bien r\u00e9el pour les exp\u00e9riences de l’\u00e9trange.<\/p>\n

Quand l’\u00e9trange devient posture<\/h3>\n

La fl\u00e2nerie subversive prolonge son esprit boh\u00e8me jusque dans les marges artistiques du XIXe si\u00e8cle, \u00e0 l’image du c\u00e9l\u00e8bre cabaret “Le Chat noir” fond\u00e9 en 1881 par Rodolphe Salis, fondateur de \u00ab\u00a0<\/span>l’\u00e9cole iriso-subversive de Chicago <\/sup>\u00bb. Rep\u00e8re d’une communaut\u00e9 de cr\u00e9ateurs irr\u00e9v\u00e9rencieux, fr\u00e9quent\u00e9 par ces \u00ab fumistes \u00bb revendiquant l’ironie, la parodie de la science et du canular \u00e9lev\u00e9 au rang d’art. Dans cette taverne meubl\u00e9e de bancs rustiques, d’armes anciennes, de vitraux et d’une haute chemin\u00e9e abritant le \u00ab cr\u00e2ne de Louis XIII enfant \u00bb se croisaient la boh\u00e8me artistique et une faune interlope en qu\u00eate de sensations fortes.<\/p>\n

Du bizarre \u00e0 la pure po\u00e9sie<\/h3>\n

C\u2019est un v\u00e9ritable \u00e9loge du frisson, sublim\u00e9 par des r\u00e9f\u00e9rences artistiques et litt\u00e9raires pertinentes qui convoquent aussi bien les visions sombres de Shakespeare et de Baudelaire que les explorations psychologiques de Salvador Dal\u00ed. L’autrice s’attarde notamment sur la m\u00e9thode parano\u00efa-critique de l’artiste et ses c\u00e9l\u00e8bres Montres molles<\/i>, ce paysage mental o\u00f9 le temps est distordu et o\u00f9 les montres \u00e9tir\u00e9es qui coulent sur un d\u00e9cor d\u00e9sertique mat\u00e9rialisent l’inconscient et l’\u00e9ph\u00e9m\u00e8re.<\/p>\n

En tissant ces liens subtils entre les mots et les images, l\u2019ouvrage r\u00e9ussit \u00e0 capturer l\u2019essence m\u00eame de l’\u00e9trange : ce d\u00e9licieux vertige o\u00f9 la peur c\u00e8de la place \u00e0 la pure po\u00e9sie.<\/p>\n
