Danseur, chor\u00e9graphe et artiste visuel install\u00e9 \u00e0 Paris, Micky Marshall fait du mouvement une fa\u00e7on d\u2019\u00eatre au monde. \u00c0 la crois\u00e9e de la danse urbaine, de la culture pop et de la cr\u00e9ation contemporaine, ses performances lui permettent de traverser toutes les disciplines, de Los Angeles \u00e0 Tokyo.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Le sourire est une \u00e9nergie. Il peut changer l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re d\u2019un lieu et cr\u00e9er une connexion avant m\u00eame le premier mouvement \u00bb, confie Micky Marshall. Cette conviction prend tout son sens lors de sa visite de<a href=\"https:\/\/great-artmag.com\/expo-sourire-mairie-paris-17e\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> l\u2019exposition SOURIRE<\/a>, \u00e0 la mairie du 17e arrondissement de Paris. Une mani\u00e8re de prolonger, par le corps et le mouvement, cette question qui sous-tend l\u2019exposition : que se passe-t-il l\u2019expression d\u2019une \u00e9motion aussi famili\u00e8re que le sourire devient un sujet de cr\u00e9ation ?<\/p>\n<p>En 2019, sa participation \u00e0 Nuit Blanche \u00e0 Kyoto et en 2017 le Grand Bal, au Grand Palais, rappelle \u00e9galement que le corps peut investir les lieux d\u2019art et en d\u00e9placer les codes. Chez lui, la chor\u00e9graphie ne se limite pas \u00e0 l\u2019encha\u00eenement des pas : elle devient une mani\u00e8re de raconter, de surprendre et de mettre les publics en relation. Le parcours de Micky Marshall raconte une danse qui refuse les fronti\u00e8res. Evoluant dans la culture K-pop, participant aux tourn\u00e9es mondiales des groupes Exo et 24K, ou intervenant dans l\u2019univers de la s\u00e9rie Emily in Paris, Micky Marshall privil\u00e9gie les environnements o\u00f9 le geste capte le regard, dialogue avec la musique et compose avec l\u2019image.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00ab Je danse pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer le monde. \u00bb<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u00c0 Los Angeles, son exp\u00e9rience au sein du centre d&#8217;art Boogiezone Utopia et sa participation aux demi-finales du festival international BET Experience (BETX) avec l\u2019\u00e9quipe chor\u00e9graphique Stvrfleet l\u2019inscrivent dans une culture chor\u00e9graphique nourrie par les danses urbaines et la performance collective. Au Japon, son exp\u00e9rience au sein du groupe Pasona et sa nomination \u00e0 la direction artistique de la plateforme d\u2019innovation Awaji Youth Federation l\u2019am\u00e8nent \u00e0 superviser et concevoir des projets artistiques d\u2019envergure entre cr\u00e9ations chor\u00e9graphiques m\u00ealant K-pop, danse hip hop, danse contemporaine et culture japonaises. Le danseur et metteur en sc\u00e8ne a \u00e9galement dirig\u00e9 des ateliers professionnels et particip\u00e9 \u00e0 Paris \u00e0 la com\u00e9die musicale Gospel sur la colline, r\u00e9unissant plus de 100 artistes. Son engagement s\u2019\u00e9tend \u00e9galement \u00e0 la transmission, notamment \u00e0 travers la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019un programme associant danse et apprentissage de l\u2019anglais \u00e0 l\u2019Awaji International School, au Japon.<\/p>\n<p>Face aux \u0153uvres de la collection du Mus\u00e9e du sourire, le geste prend une autre dimension. Le sourire peut \u00eatre spontan\u00e9 ou fabriqu\u00e9, joyeux ou ambigu, intime ou politique. Il peut devenir une ic\u00f4ne, comme chez Roy Lichtenstein, un signe urbain, comme chez Banksy, ou encore un objet de questionnement sur les repr\u00e9sentations sociales.\u00a0La vision de Micky Marshall rejoint l\u2019ambition de l\u2019exposition : faire d\u2019un geste universel une exp\u00e9rience artistique qui nous invite \u00e0 regarder autrement, \u00e0 ressentir ensemble et, peut-\u00eatre, \u00e0 nous rapprocher.
