L’histoire secr\u00e8te de l’\u0153uvre expos\u00e9e \u00e0 Beaubourg<\/h3>\n

La porcelaine blanche du Centre Pompidou \u00e9voque l’objet qui fit scandale au salon des Ind\u00e9pendants de New York. L’\u00c9tat fran\u00e7ais a achet\u00e9 cet exemplaire pour un montant de 200 000 euros. Il s’agit de l’une des douze r\u00e9pliques command\u00e9es par Duchamp 47 ans apr\u00e8s l’original. Le galeriste milanais Arturo Schwartz a orchestr\u00e9 cette production \u00e0 l’\u00e9poque. Ces nouveaux mod\u00e8les proviennent d’un grossiste en plomberie new-yorkais. Ils portent tous la fameuse signature sous le pseudonyme de R. Mutt.<\/p>\n

Le myst\u00e8re de la signature R. Mutt et de l’original disparu<\/h3>\n

La signature R. Mutt \u00e9voque subtilement le concept d’art en mutation ou “Art Mutte”. Le tout premier urinoir de la s\u00e9rie appartenait au couple de collectionneurs am\u00e9ricains Louise et Walter Arensberg. Ces derniers l’avaient achet\u00e9 en 1921 dans une galerie new-yorkaise avant sa myst\u00e9rieuse disparition. Cette \u0153uvre a valid\u00e9 le concept du “ready-made” en \u00e9levant un objet du quotidien au rang d’\u0153uvre d’art.<\/p>\n
