Qu’est-ce que l’exposition Yue Minjun au Bristol \u00e0 Paris ?<\/h3>\n

L’exposition Yue Minjun au Bristol est une installation artistique gratuite situ\u00e9e au 112 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honor\u00e9 (Paris 8e), visible jusqu’au 4 novembre 2010. Initi\u00e9e par le galeriste Enrico Navarra, elle pr\u00e9sente six personnages hilares en T-shirt sur les 1200 m\u00b2 de parterres du c\u00e9l\u00e8bre jardin \u00e0 la fran\u00e7aise de l’h\u00f4tel. Ces \u0153uvres d\u00e9noncent l’hypocrisie politique \u00e0 travers un sourire grotesque devenu l\u00e9gendaire.<\/p>\n

Des colosses hilares dans un jardin \u00e0 la fran\u00e7aise<\/h3>\n

Le tr\u00e8s chic h\u00f4tel Bristol pr\u00eate ses pelouses \u00e0 une arm\u00e9e un peu particuli\u00e8re. Six personnages g\u00e9ants ont envahi les 1200 m\u00b2 de verdure du palace. Ces ouvriers chinois portent de simples T-shirts. Ils sourient surtout de toutes leurs dents. Ce projet audacieux est une initiative du c\u00e9l\u00e8bre galeriste Enrico Navarra. Le contraste entre le luxe parisien et ces figures populaires est saisissant.<\/p>\n

Le sourire grotesque : la marque de fabrique de Yue Minjun<\/h3>\n

Ce sourire exag\u00e9r\u00e9 n’a rien de bienveillant. C’est un sourire grotesque et caricatural. Depuis quinze ans, ce rire fig\u00e9 est la v\u00e9ritable \u00ab marque de fabrique \u00bb de l’artiste. Yue Minjun utilise l’ironie comme une arme. Par ces visages d\u00e9form\u00e9s, le plasticien exprime une profonde angoisse. Il cherche avant tout \u00e0 d\u00e9noncer l’hypocrisie de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 moderne.<\/p>\n

Qui est l\u2019artiste Yue Minjun ? Biographie d’un leader cynique<\/h3>\n

\u00c0 48 ans, Yue Minjun est une figure majeure de l’art contemporain. Il appartient au mouvement du \u00ab r\u00e9alisme cynique \u00bb chinois. N\u00e9 en 1962, il a v\u00e9cu les grands bouleversements politiques de la Chine. Ses \u0153uvres traduisent le d\u00e9senchantement de toute une g\u00e9n\u00e9ration. Aujourd’hui, il fait partie des artistes les plus chers de la plan\u00e8te. Sa cote sur le march\u00e9 de l’art mondial est vertigineuse.<\/p>\n

Ex\u00e9cution <\/em>: une \u0153uvre contestataire record<\/h3>\n

Le succ\u00e8s international de Yue Minjun explose en 2007. Cette ann\u00e9e-l\u00e0, sa toile intitul\u00e9e \u00ab Ex\u00e9cution \u00bb (1995) est mise aux ench\u00e8res chez Sotheby\u2019s \u00e0 Londres. Elle est vendue pour la somme record de 4 millions d\u2019euros. Cette \u0153uvre contestataire est historique. L’artiste l’a r\u00e9alis\u00e9e en m\u00e9moire du massacre de la place Tiananmen de 1989. Derri\u00e8re le rire de ses personnages se cache une critique f\u00e9roce. Yue Minjun d\u00e9nonce la violence politique et la r\u00e9pression polici\u00e8re de son pays.<\/p>\n
