Figure majeure de l’art contemporain, elle nous laisse une oeuvre tentaculaire. \u00ab Il fallait que mon anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 s’exerce sur des formes que je pouvais changer, d\u00e9truire et reconstruire \u00bb, confiait-elle dans son journal intime. Admise \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole des Beaux-arts de Paris, elle y fit un bref passage, pr\u00e9f\u00e9rant \u00e9tudier aupr\u00e8s des artistes eux-m\u00eames. Ses premiers dessins prirent la femme pour mod\u00e8le, m\u00ealant le corps \u00e0 l’architecture, l’organique au g\u00e9om\u00e9trique : buste en brique, cage thoracique en forme d’escaliers ou de portes\u2026 Mais le fil rouge de son \u0153uvre restera le phallus et l’araign\u00e9e, qu\u2019elle sculptera \u00e0 l\u2019envie.<\/span><\/p>\n

Install\u00e9e \u00e0 New York depuis l’\u00e2ge de 27 ans, elle y a poursuivi une brillante carri\u00e8re. Une premi\u00e8re r\u00e9trospective au c\u00e9l\u00e8bre mus\u00e9e d\u2019art moderne de New York MoMa (Museum of Modern Art) lui a \u00e9t\u00e9 consacr\u00e9e pour ses 71 ans. En 1999, \u00e0 88 ans, elle a re\u00e7u un Lion d’or \u00e0 la Biennale de Venise pour l\u2019ensemble de son oeuvre. La fondation Emilio e Annabianca Vedova pr\u00e9parait \u00e0 Venise une exposition intitul\u00e9e intitul\u00e9e \u00ab Louise Bourgeois. The Fabric Works \u00bb.<\/p>\n

Un documentaire sur Louise Bourgeois de Marion Cajori et Amei Wallach intitul\u00e9 “L’Araign\u00e9e, la Ma\u00eetresse et la Mandarine” sorti 2009, est \u00e0 nouveau programm\u00e9 dans 3 salles parisiennes \u00e0 partir du 9 juin : L’Accatone, l’Entrepr\u00f4t et le Reflet-M\u00e9dicis<\/p>\n
