Son chef-d\u2019\u0153uvre &#8220;\u00c9claireur&#8221; (1962) incarne cette fusion entre r\u00eave et r\u00e9alit\u00e9. Cette p\u00e9riode d&#8217;ethno-psychanalyse transforme ses r\u00eaves en une v\u00e9ritable mati\u00e8re cr\u00e9ative. Alors \u00e9tudiant \u00e0 la <i data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"223\">Art Students League<\/i>, il d\u00e9couvre l\u2019Expressionnisme abstrait am\u00e9ricain. La rencontre avec l\u2019\u0153uvre d&#8217;Arshile Gorky provoque chez lui une intuition puissante. Ce choc visuel lib\u00e8re son trait et oriente d\u00e9finitivement sa peinture vers l&#8217;univers surr\u00e9aliste.<\/p>\r\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"6\">L&#8217;exil \u00e0 Paris et la naissance de la Figuration narrative<\/h3>\r\n<p data-path-to-node=\"7\">En 1960, T\u00e9l\u00e9maque quitte les \u00c9tats-Unis pour fuir le racisme ambiant. Il s&#8217;installe \u00e0 Paris, o\u00f9 il cofonde le mouvement de la Figuration narrative avec Bernard Rancillac. Dans la capitale fran\u00e7aise, il tisse un r\u00e9seau intellectuel solide. Il collabore avec le po\u00e8te John Ashbery et le critique \u00c9douard Jaeger. Ces \u00e9changes renforcent son besoin de r\u00e9cit m\u00e9taphysique. Son vocabulaire artistique devient alors transgressif et profond\u00e9ment narratif.<\/p>\r\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"8\">&#8220;<em>\u00c9claireur<\/em>&#8221; (1962) : Une \u00e9criture onirique et sensuelle<\/h3>\r\n<p data-path-to-node=\"9\">Dans le tableau &#8220;<em>\u00c9claireur<\/em>&#8221; (1962), Herv\u00e9 T\u00e9l\u00e9maque introduit une couleur vibrante et sensuelle. Son \u00e9criture picturale suit les bifurcations du r\u00eave pour atteindre une v\u00e9rit\u00e9 nue. Bien qu\u2019il n\u2019ait jamais adh\u00e9r\u00e9 formellement au groupe d&#8217;Andr\u00e9 Breton, le fondateur du Surr\u00e9alisme l&#8217;admire. Andr\u00e9 Breton inclut m\u00eame Herv\u00e9 T\u00e9l\u00e9maque dans l\u2019exposition historique &#8220;L\u2019\u00c9cart absolu&#8221; en 1965.
