Le chef-d&#8217;\u0153uvre de Jean Sim\u00e9on Chardin, <em>Le Melon entam\u00e9<\/em> (1760), a \u00e9t\u00e9 adjug\u00e9 pour la somme record de 26,7 millions d&#8217;euros. Cette vente fait de cette toile le tableau ancien le plus cher jamais vendu en France.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Une nature morte exceptionnelle sign\u00e9e Chardin<\/h3>\n<p>Dans cette \u0153uvre, le g\u00e9nie de Chardin (1699-1779) s&#8217;exprime avec une pr\u00e9cision fascinante. Dot\u00e9 d&#8217;une \u00e9corce verte brod\u00e9e de blanc, le melon surgit au premier plan. Une tranche orang\u00e9e est pos\u00e9e en \u00e9quilibre. Autour de ce fruit central, l&#8217;artiste dispose des prunes et des p\u00eaches velout\u00e9es. Egalement, un pichet d&#8217;\u00e9tain pour capter la lumi\u00e8re. On y voit deux bouteilles sombres et quelques poires. <em>Le Melon entam\u00e9 <\/em>(1760) constitue l&#8217;un des fleurons des 120 natures mortes peintes par l&#8217;artiste. Ce format ovale, rare et \u00e9l\u00e9gant, est une v\u00e9ritable ode \u00e0 la douceur et au naturalisme.<\/p>\n<h3>Sublimer le quotidien : l&#8217;apog\u00e9e d&#8217;un ma\u00eetre<\/h3>\n<p>Peintre autodidacte, Jean Sim\u00e9on Chardin a su se hisser au rang de membre de l&#8217;Acad\u00e9mie royale. Prot\u00e9g\u00e9 par le roi Louis XV, il b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiait d&#8217;une pension confortable et d&#8217;un logement au Louvre. Cette \u0153uvre marque l&#8217;apog\u00e9e de son talent technique. Lors du Salon de 1761, le tableau fut expos\u00e9 aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de deux autres chefs-d&#8217;\u0153uvre : <em>Le Bocal d\u2019abricots<\/em> (aujourd&#8217;hui conserv\u00e9 au Canada) ; <a href=\"https:\/\/great-artmag.com\/chardin-panier-fraises-des-bois-orleans\/\"><em>Le Panier de fraises des bois<\/em><\/a>. Ce dernier a d&#8217;ailleurs \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9cemment acquis par le mus\u00e9e du Louvre pour 24 millions d&#8217;euros gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un m\u00e9c\u00e9nat historique. \u00c0 l&#8217;\u00e9poque, le philosophe Denis Diderot ne tarissait pas d&#8217;\u00e9loges sur ces exploits picturaux. Il a fait de Chardin l&#8217;un des artistes les plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bres du XVIIIe si\u00e8cle.<\/p>\n<h3>Un march\u00e9 de l&#8217;art ancien en pleine \u00e9bullition<\/h3>\n<p>En l&#8217;espace de seulement deux ans, Chardin a battu deux fois ses propres records sur le sol fran\u00e7ais. Si les natures mortes de Van Gogh dominent toujours les sommets mondiaux (d\u00e9passant souvent les 50 millions d&#8217;euros), les ma\u00eetres anciens retrouvent une cote spectaculaire. L&#8217;engouement actuel des collectionneurs pour les natures mortes de Manet ou Gauguin confirme cette tendance.
