Entre g\u00e9nie artistique et provocation macabre, le d\u00e9bat fait rage.<\/b><\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"3\">Un nouveau scandale artistique \u00e0 Bregenz<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4\">Et un scandale de plus pour Maurizio Cattelan ! L\u2019artiste italien de 48 ans a encore frapp\u00e9 fort. Son exposition \u00e0 Bregenz, en Autriche, ouverte jusqu\u2019au 24 mars 2008, suscite une vive \u00e9motion. Le public d\u00e9couvre des cadavres align\u00e9s et expos\u00e9s sous un drap blanc. La sc\u00e8ne est saisissante. Elle \u00e9voque imm\u00e9diatement une morgue. Pire encore, elle rappelle des corps align\u00e9s apr\u00e8s un attentat ou une catastrophe naturelle. La sid\u00e9ration est totale pour les visiteurs face \u00e0 ces silhouettes immobiles.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"7\">Le marbre de Carrare pour sublimer le macabre<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\">Ces corps sont-ils vrais ou faux ? La question se pose face au r\u00e9alisme des formes. Ces <i data-path-to-node=\"8\" data-index-in-node=\"88\">Gisants<\/i> extraordinaires sont en fait taill\u00e9s en pur marbre de Carrare. L&#8217;illusion est parfaite. Maurizio Cattelan utilise ce mat\u00e9riau noble pour figurer la mort de mani\u00e8re brute. Cette d\u00e9marche s&#8217;inscrit dans la lign\u00e9e de ses \u0153uvres pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes. L&#8217;artiste est un habitu\u00e9 des pol\u00e9miques. On se souvient de Jean-Paul II \u00e9cras\u00e9 par une m\u00e9t\u00e9orite. Il avait aussi marqu\u00e9 les esprits avec le suicide d\u2019un \u00e9cureuil, une balle dans la t\u00eate.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"11\">Des petits boulots \u00e0 la morgue comme inspiration<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12\">D&#8217;o\u00f9 vient ce go\u00fbt pour le morbide ? Maurizio Cattelan s\u2019est sans doute inspir\u00e9 de ses propres souvenirs de jeunesse. Adolescent, il errait de petits boulots en petits boulots. Il a notamment travaill\u00e9 dans une morgue. Cette exp\u00e9rience explique peut-\u00eatre son obsession pour le macabre. Le travail de Maurizio Cattelan utilise la d\u00e9rision pour interroger notre rapport \u00e0 la mort et \u00e0 la soci\u00e9t\u00e9. L&#8217;artiste manie aussi l&#8217;ironie avec brio. Il a ouvert \u00e0 New York la <i data-path-to-node=\"14\" data-index-in-node=\"68\">Wrong Gallery<\/i>. Cette galerie a pour unique vocation de ne rien vendre. Elle reste ferm\u00e9e en permanence.
