En 2025, c\u2019est l\u2019artiste portugaise Joana Vasconcelos qui occupe le devant de la sc\u00e8ne en tant qu\u2019invit\u00e9e d\u2019honneur. Cette d\u00e9cision audacieuse inscrit la BRAFA dans une dynamique r\u00e9solument contemporaine. Cette histoire lui a permis de construire une r\u00e9putation solide et de fid\u00e9liser une communaut\u00e9 internationale de collectionneurs, marchands et amateurs d&#8217;art. Situ\u00e9e \u00e0 Bruxelles, au carrefour de l&#8217;Europe, la BRAFA profite d&#8217;une accessibilit\u00e9 exceptionnelle. 130 galeries internationales y exposent, pr\u00e9sentant des \u0153uvres rares, allant de l\u2019Antiquit\u00e9 au XXIe si\u00e8cle.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Pour cette \u00e9dition historique, je propose l&#8217;installation d\u2019\u0153uvres que je d\u00e9veloppe depuis l&#8217;ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re, en collaboration avec Dior. Il y aura deux sculptures monumentales, dont l&#8217;am\u00e9nagement servira de point central esth\u00e9tique et conceptuel \u00e0 la Foire \u00bb, explique Joana Vasconcelos. Par\u00e9e de lumi\u00e8res LED et de dorures scintillantes, l&#8217;oeuvre de\u00a0 &#8220;<em>Filigrana XXL<\/em>&#8221; s\u2019\u00e9l\u00e8ve comme une ode \u00e0 l\u2019artisanat et un t\u00e9moignage du dialogue entre pass\u00e9 et pr\u00e9sent.<\/p>\n<p>Le centenaire du Manifeste du surr\u00e9alisme, organis\u00e9 \u00e0 Bruxelles puis \u00e0 Paris, a mis en lumi\u00e8re le r\u00f4le majeur du surr\u00e9alisme international, tant sur le plan artistique que politique, au XX\u1d49 si\u00e8cle. Pour l\u2019\u00e9dition 2025 de la BRAFA, la galerie Berthet-Aittouares install\u00e9e \u00e0 Paris fait le r\u00e9cit de cette extraordinaire aventure \u00e0 travers la collection de Georges Goldfayn (1933-2019), un critique de cin\u00e9ma, qui entre dans le cercle surr\u00e9aliste \u00e0 seulement 17 ans, apr\u00e8s sa rencontre avec Andr\u00e9 Breton au lendemain de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. L\u2019ensemble t\u00e9moigne des recherches du mouvement surr\u00e9aliste, int\u00e9grant des \u0153uvres surr\u00e9alistes mais aussi des cr\u00e9ations d\u2019art Brut et d\u2019art Premier, notamment oc\u00e9aniennes, sources d\u2019inspiration essentielles pour les surr\u00e9alistes. Une occasion exceptionnelle d\u2019explorer deux facettes contrast\u00e9es mais compl\u00e9mentaires de l\u2019art africain. L\u2019imposante force des masques Ngon du Cameroun, d&#8217;une part, et la d\u00e9licatesse pr\u00e9cieuse des ornements en or Baule de C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, d&#8217;autre part. Les masques Ngon, originaires du peuple Fang et de certaines ethnies voisines au Cameroun, se distinguent par leur caract\u00e8re imposant et leur esth\u00e9tique marqu\u00e9e. G\u00e9n\u00e9ralement sculpt\u00e9s dans du bois massif, ces masques se caract\u00e9risent par des traits g\u00e9om\u00e9triques et stylis\u00e9s, souvent amplifi\u00e9s par des lignes rigides et des proportions exag\u00e9r\u00e9es, comme des visages allong\u00e9s ou des arcades sourcili\u00e8res pro\u00e9minentes. En contraste avec la force brute des masques Ngon, les ornements en or des Baule (une ethnie majeure de C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire) t\u00e9moignent d\u2019un art d\u00e9licat et d\u2019une symbolique profond\u00e9ment enracin\u00e9e dans la richesse culturelle de cette r\u00e9gion.
