Un livre passionnant qui nous plonge dans l&#8217;atelier du peintre, avec ses pr\u00e9occupations financi\u00e8res, ses doutes esth\u00e9tiques, et ses jeux de d\u00e9tournement.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4714 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/great-artmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/ni-vu-ni-connu-sarah-belmont.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"235\" height=\"278\" srcset=\"https:\/\/great-artmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/ni-vu-ni-connu-sarah-belmont.jpg 738w, https:\/\/great-artmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/ni-vu-ni-connu-sarah-belmont-254x300.jpg 254w, https:\/\/great-artmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/ni-vu-ni-connu-sarah-belmont-355x420.jpg 355w, https:\/\/great-artmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/ni-vu-ni-connu-sarah-belmont-696x822.jpg 696w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 235px) 100vw, 235px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>En s\u2019appuyant sur des \u00e9tudes scientifiques et des techniques d\u2019imagerie avanc\u00e9es pour d\u00e9voiler les myst\u00e8res de ces \u0153uvres, l&#8217;autrice raconte les histoires derri\u00e8re des tableaux tels que <em>L\u2019Odalisque<\/em> (1745) de Fran\u00e7ois Boucher, sous laquelle se cache un homme, ou encore une bretelle baiss\u00e9e puis remont\u00e9e dans le portrait de <em>Madame Gautreau <\/em>(1883) chez John Singer Sargent.<\/p>\n<p>Parmi les anecdotes marquantes, Sarah Belmont \u00e9voque la transformation du plafond de l\u2019Op\u00e9ra Garnier \u00e0 Paris par Marc Chagall en 1964. \u00c0 la demande d\u2019Andr\u00e9 Malraux, alors ministre de la Culture, Chagall a recouvert la fresque originale de Jules-Eug\u00e8ne Lenepveu &#8211; en refusant de d\u00e9truire l&#8217;\u0153uvre sous-jacente &#8211; avec une composition color\u00e9e rendant hommage \u00e0 quatorze compositeurs c\u00e9l\u00e8bres dont Mozart, Beethoven, Wagner ou encore Debussy.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab <em>\u00c0 l&#8217;oeil nu, le spectateur saura d\u00e9tecter une paire d&#8217;yeux transper\u00e7ant la mati\u00e8re picturale&#8230; <\/em>\u00bb Avec pertinence et souvent beaucoup d&#8217;humour, l&#8217;autrice aborde notamment l\u2019histoire du portrait de cet officier sup\u00e9rieur du XIXe si\u00e8cle, qui a servi \u00e0 Pablo Picasso comme support au <em>Gobeur d&#8217;oursins<\/em> (1946). Elle a men\u00e9 l&#8217;enqu\u00eate. L&#8217;amiral Bellec a reconnu l&#8217;habit institu\u00e9 par le d\u00e9cret du 1er d\u00e9cembre 1848. \u00ab <em>Peu importe le grade de ce personnage<\/em>, \u00e9crit-elle. <em>L&#8217;essentiel est qu&#8217;il aurait inspir\u00e9 \u00e0 Picasso son sujet.<\/em>\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Ni vu, ni connu \u00bb offre ainsi un d\u00e9cryptage captivant des processus cr\u00e9atifs qui ont guid\u00e9 la main de l&#8217;artiste.
