\"\"R\u00e9veiller le patrimoine<\/h3>\n

Nomm\u00e9e directrice du Quadrilat\u00e8re en 2019, Lucy Hofbauer, historienne de l\u2019art et de l\u2019architecture, souhaite \u00ab r\u00e9veiller le patrimoine du lieu \u00bb. Face \u00e0 la cath\u00e9drale de Beauvais (Oise), chef-d\u2019\u0153uvre d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9vation gothique, le b\u00e2timent a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7u en 1976 par l\u2019architecte Andr\u00e9 Hermant \u00e0 la demande d\u2019Andr\u00e9 Malraux, alors ministre de la Culture. L’horizontalit\u00e9 assum\u00e9e est un contrepoint \u00e0 la verticalit\u00e9 extr\u00eame de l\u2019\u00e9difice religieux.<\/p>\n

Un ancrage urbain<\/h3>\n

Construit sur des vestiges gallo-romains et sur l\u2019emplacement de l\u2019ancienne Manufacture de tapisserie de Beauvais, d\u00e9truite pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, le lieu s\u2019inscrit dans une stratification complexe. \u00ab Le but de la r\u00e9novation \u00e9tait de donner acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l\u2019ensemble des \u00e9tages au plus grand nombre \u00bb, affirme Lucy Hofbauer. La restructuration, vot\u00e9e par la Communaut\u00e9 d\u2019agglom\u00e9ration, a vis\u00e9 autant la mise aux normes que la red\u00e9finition du projet culturel. Vestiaires, caf\u00e9t\u00e9ria, librairie, ateliers p\u00e9dagogiques : tout est pens\u00e9 pour am\u00e9liorer l\u2019accueil et les usages. \u00ab Pendant la fermeture, on a investi la ville avec des \u0153uvres inscrites dans l’espace public comme celle d’Ingrid Luche<\/a> \u00bb, confie la directrice.<\/p>\n

\u00c9crire l\u2019espace<\/h3>\n

C\u2019est dans ce contexte que s\u2019inscrit la saison actuelle, \u00ab \u00c9crire l\u2019espace \u00bb, v\u00e9ritable manifeste artistique et intellectuel. La programmation explore les liens entre art, architecture et perception, en prenant le b\u00e2timent lui-m\u00eame comme mati\u00e8re premi\u00e8re.<\/p>\n

Suivre la ligne<\/h3>\n

Les voiles color\u00e9s de C\u00e9cile Bart transforment la lumi\u00e8re, modulent les volumes et invitent \u00e0 une d\u00e9ambulation sensorielle. L\u2019espace se r\u00e9\u00e9crit au fil du d\u00e9placement. En regard, l\u2019exposition “Andr\u00e9 Hermant, architecte iconographe” r\u00e9v\u00e8le une facette m\u00e9connue du concepteur du lieu. Dessins, photographies et archives montrent un architecte attentif aux images, aux correspondances formelles et aux structures naturelles, \u00e9clairant d\u2019un jour nouveau l\u2019intelligence du b\u00e2timent.<\/p>\n

\"\"Des r\u00e9sidences prometteuses<\/h3>\n

Ainsi, l\u2019artiste St\u00e9phanie Mansy, avec “Les Infeuilletables”, propose une fresque monumentale et cinq installations issues d\u2019une r\u00e9sidence de cr\u00e9ation. Chaque espace devient un chapitre, entre r\u00e9cit intime et d\u00e9ploiement architectural.<\/p>\n

Parmi les projets \u00e0 venir : un hommage \u00e0 Gordon Matta-Clark (1943-1978), figure majeure de l\u2019art architectural radical. Form\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019architecture, l\u2019artiste am\u00e9ricain s\u2019est impos\u00e9 dans les ann\u00e9es 1970 par une pratique \u00e0 la fronti\u00e8re de la sculpture, de la performance et de l\u2019intervention urbaine. Matta-Clark a choisi de d\u00e9couper, ouvrir et diss\u00e9quer des b\u00e2timents existants, souvent vou\u00e9s \u00e0 la d\u00e9molition. Ses \u0153uvres les plus embl\u00e9matiques prennent place dans la rue, les immeubles abandonn\u00e9s ou les sous-sols, qu\u2019il transforme en espaces d\u2019exp\u00e9rimentation. Ces gestes radicaux r\u00e9v\u00e8lent l\u2019architecture de l\u2019int\u00e9rieur.<\/p>\n
