Install\u00e9 au CENTQUATRE-PARIS, il d\u00e9ploie du 21 mars au 17 mai une cartographie sensible des tensions qui traversent les travaux de 26 artistes issus de 15 pays : hybridation des m\u00e9diums, retour du r\u00e9cit, politisation du regard, et surtout, une volont\u00e9 manifeste de r\u00e9inventer les formes de narration visuelle face \u00e0 un monde satur\u00e9 d\u2019images.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Face \u00e0 un monde instable, les artistes font le choix d\u2019une th\u00e9\u00e2tralisation assum\u00e9e \u00bb, \u00e9crit le collectif Fetart dans son \u00e9ditorial. Cette phrase agit comme un manifeste implicite de l\u2019\u00e9dition 2026. Le travail du Br\u00e9silien Rafael Roncato, notamment, agit comme une cl\u00e9 de lecture transversale de cette \u00e9dition. Sa s\u00e9rie <em>Tropical Trauma Misery Tour<\/em> s\u2019inscrit dans une r\u00e9flexion globale sur la fabrication des r\u00e9cits politiques \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e8re num\u00e9rique. \u00c0 partir de l\u2019agression au couteau de Jair Bolsonaro en 2018, Rafael Roncato construit une mythologie contemporaine o\u00f9 la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 factuelle se dissout dans une prolif\u00e9ration d\u2019images manipul\u00e9es, de m\u00e8mes et de narrations contradictoires. Le populisme brouille les fronti\u00e8res entre r\u00e9alit\u00e9 et fiction, pourrait r\u00e9sumer son approche. Mais l\u00e0 o\u00f9 d\u2019autres se contenteraient de documenter ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne, Rafael Roncato choisit d\u2019en \u00e9pouser les codes. Son travail rel\u00e8ve d\u2019une m\u00e9ta-fiction visuelle : images mises en sc\u00e8ne, fragments d\u2019archives recompos\u00e9s, dispositifs narratifs volontairement instables. Il ne s\u2019agit pas de d\u00e9noncer de l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur, mais de montrer de l\u2019int\u00e9rieur comment une croyance se construit. Le travail de Rafael Roncato dialogue avec d\u2019autres propositions du festival qui explorent, chacune \u00e0 leur mani\u00e8re, les fragilit\u00e9s du r\u00e9el. Mais l\u00e0 o\u00f9 certains convoquent l\u2019intime ou la m\u00e9moire, le photographe attaque frontalement les structures de pouvoir. L\u2019installation repose sur un dispositif simple mais radical : 40 000 punaises rouges envahissent un int\u00e9rieur domestique, transformant un espace familier en territoire hostile. Olia Koval, qui travaille \u00e0 partir de la guerre en Ukraine, refuse pourtant toute repr\u00e9sentation directe du conflit. Elle opte pour une strat\u00e9gie de d\u00e9placement. L\u2019invasion militaire devient infestation domestique. Le politique se loge dans le quotidien. L\u2019horreur se manifeste dans le d\u00e9tail, dans la r\u00e9p\u00e9tition, dans l\u2019accumulation. Cette approche \u00e9voque une esth\u00e9tique du sympt\u00f4me : ce qui est montr\u00e9 n\u2019est pas la guerre elle-m\u00eame, mais ses effets psychiques, sa mani\u00e8re de contaminer les espaces intimes. \u00ab Documenter des fragments de la vie quotidienne \u00bb, dit-elle. Mais ces fragments sont charg\u00e9s d\u2019une tension extr\u00eame. La mat\u00e9rialit\u00e9 joue ici un r\u00f4le central. Les punaises, fabriqu\u00e9es \u00e0 la main, introduisent une dimension artisanale qui contraste avec la violence du sujet. Ce choix renforce l\u2019ambigu\u00eft\u00e9 de l\u2019\u0153uvre : entre beaut\u00e9 formelle et inqui\u00e9tude latente. L\u2019image devient tactile, presque invasive. Sa s\u00e9rie <em>Thunder<\/em> plonge dans les montagnes du canton d\u2019Uri, en Suisse, territoire de son enfance. Mais loin d\u2019une approche documentaire classique, la Suisse Nathalie Bissig construit un univers o\u00f9 nature et mythologie s\u2019entrem\u00ealent. \u00ab Que pensaient les gens lorsqu\u2019ils entendaient le tonnerre ? \u00bb Cette question ouvre un espace de projection. Elle d\u00e9place le regard vers une temporalit\u00e9 archa\u00efque, o\u00f9 les ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes naturels \u00e9chappaient \u00e0 toute rationalisation scientifique. Le tonnerre devient une pr\u00e9sence, une force, presque une entit\u00e9. Les images de Nathalie Bissig sont travers\u00e9es par cette tension entre visible et invisible. Elles \u00e9voquent des rituels, des croyances, des peurs ancestrales. Le paysage n\u2019est jamais neutre : il est charg\u00e9 d\u2019histoires, de projections, de r\u00e9cits collectifs. Des mondes interm\u00e9diaires o\u00f9 l\u2019inqui\u00e9tant et le miraculeux cohabitent. T2i est un rappeur, graphiste et r\u00e9alisateur bas\u00e9 en Guyane. Il a construit un univers visuel et musical singulier nourri de culture afro-amazonienne. NouN est une artiste visuelle form\u00e9e \u00e0 la Sorbonne et \u00e0 Kourtrajm\u00e9, \u00e9voluant entre Paris et la Guyane. Dans ses travaux, elle explore les notions d&#8217;identit\u00e9s, de corps et de regard d\u00e9colonial. Au sein de leur duo,En s\u2019appuyant sur une figure issue des cultures guyanaises, celle de la \u00ab m\u00e8re des eaux \u00bb, les artistes construisent une iconographie afrofuturiste d\u2019une grande richesse. La figure mystique mi-femme mi-poisson d\u00e9passe largement sa dimension folklorique. Elle devient un symbole de r\u00e9sistance, une incarnation des m\u00e9moires afro-descendantes, mais aussi une all\u00e9gorie \u00e9cologique. Dans cette dystopie visuelle, <em>Manman Dilo<\/em> reprend possession d\u2019un monde d\u00e9grad\u00e9 par l\u2019activit\u00e9 humaine. \u00ab Elle devient t\u00e9moin des d\u00e9gradations inflig\u00e9es aux eaux. \u00bb L\u2019image se fait ici politique, mais sans didactisme. Elle passe par la fiction, par le mythe, par une esth\u00e9tique qui m\u00eale r\u00e9f\u00e9rences traditionnelles et codes contemporains. Cette dimension narrative rejoint les pr\u00e9occupations plus larges du festival, o\u00f9 de nombreux photographes construisent des microcosmes, des fictions, des espaces alternatifs.<\/p>\n<p>Le focus consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019Irlande rappelle que le festival reste attentif aux sc\u00e8nes photographiques europ\u00e9ennes dans leur diversit\u00e9. Dans un contexte o\u00f9 les images circulent \u00e0 une vitesse in\u00e9dite, o\u00f9 leur statut est sans cesse remis en question, Circulation(s) propose une exp\u00e9rience pr\u00e9cieuse : celle de prendre le temps de regarder.
