Il se visite tous les jours jusqu&#8217;au 8 juin.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Man in Blue VII&#8221;, le chef-d&#8217;\u0153uvre du peintre figuratif britannique, ma\u00eetre des distorsions int\u00e9rieures, s&#8217;inscrit dans la s\u00e9rie des portraits initi\u00e9e au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 50. Apr\u00e8s les hauts dignitaires de l&#8217;Eglise et sa c\u00e9l\u00e8bre &#8211; et pol\u00e9mique &#8211; r\u00e9interpr\u00e9tation du portrait d&#8217;Innocent X par V\u00e9lasquez, Bacon s&#8217;en prend ici au nouveau &#8220;veau d&#8217;or&#8221;: le monde capitaliste dont il pressent la violence.<\/p>\n<p>Pr\u00e9sence sombre sur fond oscillant entre le bleu marine et le noir, \u00e2me perdue, enferm\u00e9e dans un syst\u00e8me implacable et solitaire: le ma\u00eetre de la trag\u00e9die peint ici un homme d&#8217;affaire de passage rest\u00e9 anonyme, rencontr\u00e9 au bar de l&#8217;Imperial h\u00f4tel de Henley-on-Thames. Il s&#8217;agit-l\u00e0 de l&#8217;une des rares repr\u00e9sentations d&#8217;apr\u00e8s nature de l&#8217;artiste qui pr\u00e9f\u00e9rait travailler \u00e0 partir de photographies. En 1954, la technique de Francis Bacon a \u00e9volu\u00e9, il utilise d\u00e9sormais des fonds par application de fines couches d&#8217;huile et de t\u00e9r\u00e9benthine, la mati\u00e8re peinte devenant plus transparente et fluide.
