\u00c0 Cit\u00e9 de la Mer \u00e0 Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, l\u2019exposition \u00ab Ast\u00e9rix et la mer \u00bb explore un fil discret mais essentiel de l\u2019\u0153uvre : le rapport intime du sc\u00e9nariste Ren\u00e9 Goscinny \u00e0 l\u2019oc\u00e9an. Install\u00e9e dans l\u2019ancienne gare maritime transatlantique, elle donne \u00e0 voir comment les travers\u00e9es, les ports et l\u2019ailleurs ont nourri l\u2019imaginaire du cr\u00e9ateur d\u2019Ast\u00e9rix. Jusqu’au 31 mai.<\/strong><\/p>\n

N\u00e9 \u00e0 Paris, Ren\u00e9 Goscinny (1926-1977) grandit entre deux continents. Tr\u00e8s t\u00f4t, il embarque pour l\u2019Argentine avec sa famille, \u00e0 une \u00e9poque o\u00f9 le voyage ne se fait qu\u2019en paquebot. Ces travers\u00e9es fondatrices installent un rythme, une distance, une curiosit\u00e9 du monde qui irrigueront toute son \u00e9criture. Dans les ann\u00e9es 1950, entre New York, Paris et Buenos Aires, il multiplie les allers-retours, forgeant une identit\u00e9 transatlantique. L\u2019exposition rappelle combien ces exp\u00e9riences fa\u00e7onnent son regard : humour cosmopolite, go\u00fbt du d\u00e9calage, sens du r\u00e9cit en mouvement.<\/p>\n

\"\"Le parcours de visite s\u2019attarde sur les rencontres d\u00e9cisives, notamment celle avec Albert Uderzo (1927-2020). Ensemble, ils inventent un univers o\u00f9 les voyages en mer deviennent des \u00e9pisodes embl\u00e9matiques : pirates malchanceux, exp\u00e9ditions improbables, routes commerciales fantasm\u00e9es. Derri\u00e8re la l\u00e9g\u00e8ret\u00e9 d\u2019Ast\u00e9rix, la mer agit comme un moteur narratif. Elle ouvre l\u2019espace, provoque l\u2019aventure, cr\u00e9e l\u2019alt\u00e9rit\u00e9. Les planches expos\u00e9es dialoguent avec des archives maritimes, soulignant ce lien constant entre fiction et r\u00e9alit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Plus intime encore, l\u2019exposition \u00e9voque la mer comme espace de vie. C\u2019est \u00e0 bord du paquebot “Antilles” que Ren\u00e9 Goscinny rencontre celle qui deviendra son \u00e9pouse. Dans son bureau, des maquettes de bateaux rappelaient cet attachement durable. Ici, \u00e0 Cherbourg, ancien point de d\u00e9part des grandes travers\u00e9es, cette dimension prend une r\u00e9sonance particuli\u00e8re : l\u2019\u0153uvre appara\u00eet comme le prolongement d\u2019une vie pass\u00e9e \u00e0 naviguer, physiquement et mentalement. Chez Goscinny, l\u2019inspiration ne venait pas seulement en marchant, mais en prenant le large.<\/p>\n

On y red\u00e9couvre que ce n\u2019est qu\u2019\u00e0 partir d\u2019Ast\u00e9rix gladiateur<\/em> que les h\u00e9ros quittent pour la premi\u00e8re fois l\u2019Armorique par la mer, en direction de Rome pour sauver Assurancetourix. Suivront d\u2019autres p\u00e9riples maritimes, d\u2019Ast\u00e9rix l\u00e9gionnaire<\/em> \u00e0 La Grande Travers\u00e9e<\/em>, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 La Gal\u00e8re d\u2019Ob\u00e9lix<\/em>. Derri\u00e8re ces aventures, le parcours interroge les r\u00e9alit\u00e9s historiques : conditions de navigation dans l\u2019Antiquit\u00e9, routes commerciales, techniques de propulsion sans moteur ni potion magique. Une mani\u00e8re de confronter l\u2019humour et la fantaisie d\u2019Ast\u00e9rix et Cl\u00e9op\u00e2tre<\/em> aux savoirs arch\u00e9ologiques, et de rappeler que, m\u00eame sans Ob\u00e9lix pour ramer, les marins antiques savaient d\u00e9j\u00e0 dompter les vents et les courants.<\/p>\n
