Voici une s\u00e9lection de 10 \u0153uvres d&#8217;art majeures, qui d\u00e9noncent avec une force rare les discriminations raciales et l&#8217;h\u00e9ritage colonial.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><em>African American Flag<\/em> (1990) \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moma.org\/collection\/works\/222169\">David Hammons<\/a> (\u00c9tats-Unis, 1943)<\/h4>\n<p>Cr\u00e9\u00e9e en 1990 mais devenue une ic\u00f4ne absolue lors des r\u00e9cents mouvements Black Lives Matter, cette \u0153uvre r\u00e9invente le drapeau am\u00e9ricain en utilisant les couleurs du drapeau panafricain (rouge, noir, vert).<br \/>\n\u2022 L&#8217;impact : David Hammons interroge la place de l&#8217;identit\u00e9 noire au sein de la nation am\u00e9ricaine. C\u2019est une \u0153uvre de r\u00e9appropriation symbolique qui demande : &#8220;\u00c0 qui appartient ce pays ?&#8221;. L&#8217;\u0153uvre est une installation compos\u00e9e de lits superpos\u00e9s en bois, sur lesquels sont empil\u00e9s d&#8217;\u00e9normes ballots de tissus color\u00e9s (souvent appel\u00e9s &#8220;sacs de migrants&#8221;). Les lits \u00e9voquent les dortoirs de fortune, la promiscuit\u00e9 des foyers de travailleurs immigr\u00e9s ou les centres de r\u00e9tention. Le titre sugg\u00e8re une chute de statut social. Dans ses installations, il confronte souvent les traumatismes de la colonisation aux blessures physiques de l&#8217;histoire (comme les &#8220;Gueules Cass\u00e9es&#8221; de la Premi\u00e8re Guerre mondiale). <em>Ghost<\/em> est une installation qui \u00e9voque une assembl\u00e9e de femmes en position de pri\u00e8re. Compos\u00e9es \u00e0 partir de corps moul\u00e9s avec du papier d\u2019aluminium alimentaire, les sculptures ont un caract\u00e8re froid et industriel. La s\u00e9rie DOWN est une repr\u00e9sentation par Wiley de figures d\u00e9chues de l&#8217;histoire de l&#8217;art, notamment J\u00e9sus-Christ, Morpheus de la mythologie grecque, Sainte C\u00e9cile, Tarcisius et les soldats de la guerre civile, avec de jeunes hommes noirs comme sujets.<br \/>\n\u2022 L&#8217;impact : En utilisant les codes du pouvoir et de l&#8217;aristocratie (dorures, poses h\u00e9ro\u00efques) pour repr\u00e9senter des personnes marginalis\u00e9es par le racisme syst\u00e9mique, Wiley combat l&#8217;invisibilit\u00e9 des corps noirs dans l&#8217;histoire de l&#8217;art et exige pour eux une dignit\u00e9 souveraine.<\/p>\n<h4><em>Naming the Money <\/em>(2004) \u2013 Lubaina Himid (Zanzibar, 1954)<\/h4>\n<p>Premi\u00e8re femme noire \u00e0 remporter le prestigieux Turner Prize, Lubaina Himid a marqu\u00e9 l&#8217;art europ\u00e9en avec ses installations de figurines en bois d\u00e9coup\u00e9 grandeur nature.<br \/>\n\u2022 L&#8217;impact : Naming the Money repr\u00e9sente 100 serviteurs noirs des cours europ\u00e9ennes du XVIIIe si\u00e8cle. Ses \u0153uvres, d&#8217;une esth\u00e9tique sublime, traitent souvent des cons\u00e9quences tragiques des migrations mondiales et du racisme \u00e9conomique.<br \/>\n\u2022 L&#8217;impact : Bien qu&#8217;il s&#8217;int\u00e9resse \u00e0 toutes les formes de racisme, ses films explorent la mani\u00e8re dont le capitalisme mondialis\u00e9 d\u00e9shumanise les travailleurs racis\u00e9s. L\u2019artiste afro- am\u00e9ricaine, Kara Walker, class\u00e9e par Times magazine comme l\u2019une des cent personnes les plus influentes du monde en 2007.<br \/>\n\u2022 L&#8217;impact : L&#8217;\u0153uvre confronte le spectateur au lien historique entre la traite n\u00e9gri\u00e8re et l&#8217;industrie sucri\u00e8re. En utilisant le sucre, un produit de luxe autrefois cultiv\u00e9 par des esclaves, Kara Walker rend visible l&#8217;exploitation brutale qui se cache derri\u00e8re la &#8220;douceur&#8221; de la consommation moderne.<\/p>\n<h4><em>This is America \/ Childish Gambino <\/em>(2018) \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Donald_Glover\">Donald Glover<\/a> (\u00c9tats-Unis, 1983)<\/h4>\n<p>Bien qu&#8217;il s&#8217;agisse d&#8217;un clip vid\u00e9o, cette \u0153uvre de 2018 est analys\u00e9e par les historiens de l&#8217;art comme une performance de &#8220;video-art&#8221; complexe et multidimensionnelle.<br \/>\n\u2022 L&#8217;impact : \u00c0 travers une chor\u00e9graphie hypnotique qui masque des sc\u00e8nes de violences polici\u00e8res et de fusillades en arri\u00e8re-plan, Donald Glover d\u00e9nonce la mani\u00e8re dont la culture populaire consomme le divertissement noir tout en ignorant la violence r\u00e9elle subie par la communaut\u00e9.
