Le minist\u00e8re de la Culture a d\u00e9voil\u00e9 le laur\u00e9at du concours d’architecture pour transformer le mus\u00e9e du Louvre. L’ouverture officielle de l’extension Louvre Nouvelle Renaissance est programm\u00e9e pour l’horizon 2030. Le projet suscite d\u00e9j\u00e0 de vives pol\u00e9miques chez les d\u00e9fenseurs du patrimoine.<\/b><\/p>\n

Un nouveau cap pour le plus grand mus\u00e9e du monde<\/h3>\n

Le verdict est tomb\u00e9 ce 18 mai 2026. La ministre de la Culture, Catherine P\u00e9gard, annonce la victoire du groupement franco-am\u00e9ricain STUDIOS Architecture Paris et Selldorf Architects<\/a>. Pr\u00e8s de 40 ans apr\u00e8s l’inauguration de la Pyramide de Pei, le Louvre s’appr\u00eate \u00e0 vivre sa prochaine r\u00e9volution architecturale.<\/p>\n

Baptis\u00e9 Louvre Nouvelle Renaissance<\/strong>, ce grand plan de modernisation a \u00e9t\u00e9 initi\u00e9 d\u00e9but 2025. L’objectif est double : r\u00e9parer le patrimoine existant et adapter le mus\u00e9e aux d\u00e9fis contemporains. Le projet phare repose sur le concours \u00ab Louvre – Grande Colonnade \u00bb. Il vise \u00e0 cr\u00e9er de nouveaux acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l’est du palais, tout en reconnectant le monument \u00e0 la ville de Paris.<\/p>\n

Les points de friction qui font pol\u00e9mique<\/h3>\n

L’annonce du projet soul\u00e8ve d’importants d\u00e9bats au sein de la communaut\u00e9 culturelle et des riverains. La transformation des foss\u00e9s de la Colonnade en douves v\u00e9g\u00e9talis\u00e9es cristallise les tensions. Les puristes de l’histoire de l’art redoutent une d\u00e9naturation de l’\u0153uvre classique de Claude Perrault (1613-1688), jug\u00e9e intouchable.<\/p>\n

Le creusement du mur de contrescarpe pour y int\u00e9grer des commerces et des billetteries passe mal. Plusieurs associations de sauvegarde du patrimoine d\u00e9noncent une “commercialisation excessive” des sous-sols historiques. Enfin, la cr\u00e9ation des deux nouvelles entr\u00e9es souterraines fait craindre un engorgement majeur des flux touristiques sur les axes de la rue de Rivoli et des quais de Seine, d\u00e9j\u00e0 fortement satur\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

    2027 :<\/b> D\u00e9but des premiers travaux d’am\u00e9nagement et de v\u00e9g\u00e9talisation.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    2030 :<\/b> Date cible pour l’ouverture des nouveaux espaces d’accueil et des acc\u00e8s souterrains.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Le chantier s’annonce titanesque. L’\u00e9quipe laur\u00e9ate va r\u00e9activer l’axe historique Est-Ouest face \u00e0 Saint-Germain-l’Auxerrois. Les foss\u00e9s seront transform\u00e9s pour offrir un \u00eelot de fra\u00eecheur urbain.<\/p>\n

    Le public d\u00e9couvrira deux nouvelles entr\u00e9es souterraines. Ces acc\u00e8s m\u00e8neront \u00e0 des accueils modernis\u00e9s et au futur parcours optimis\u00e9 de la Joconde. Les commerces et services s’installeront sous des rampes d’acc\u00e8s en pente douce.
